Het 2008 seizoen van het Nederlandse Van Merksteijn Motorsport team was zo’n prestatie met een Europees kampioenschap en een machtige overwinning op Le Mans in de LMP2 klasse.
Om dat te kunnen bereiken was een fantastische machine maar ook heel veel werk nodig: monteurs, communicatiesystemen, team management, coureurs, bandenselectie, juiste beslissingen in onverwachte situaties.
Dit is het verhaal van een unieke triomf met een grote Nederlandse stempel, een die het verdient om niet vergeten te worden.

In order to get there they needed not only a fantastic car but also a lot of ingredients: mechanics, communication systems, team management, drivers, tyre choices but also quick decisions to solve unexpected situations.

Milo Kol (Haarlem, 1972).
Milo’s love for motorsports started at an early age, attending races at the Zandvoort circuit since he can remember.
When his childhood favorite Nelson Piquet moved from Formula 1 to Endurance racing he started attending the Le Mans 24 Hours, not having missed a single edition ever since. Milo has contributed with different media in motorsport including RTL GP Magazine and Planetlemans.com.
Gabriel Portos (Montevideo, 1963).
Gabriel learned to read in the legendary Automundo motorsports magazine even before attending school.
A 1971 screening of Steve McQueen’s “Le Mans” movie at the CENSA movie theater of the Uruguayan capital sealed his love affair with Endurance racing. A regular attendee of endurance and classic racing since 2004 Gabriel has contributed to El País (Uruguay), Planetlemans.com and Endurance Nostalgia. He is also co-writer of the famous Club Arnage Le Mans 24 Hours Guide.
